There will be a more formal message when my brain starts functioning again, so this announcement is short and sweet. (Je suis assez fatigué que je suis presque incapable de l’écrire en anglais… une version en français suivra plus tard…)

That’s right – the difference: 108 points – 4% of our point total! Imagine if 40 of our swimmers who placed between 7th and 10th did one race less – our west-island rivals would be celebrating now instead of us. We are fortunate to count many fast swimmers in our ranks, but they can’t win alone. Congratulations for YOUR victory, team, because in capturing this provincial title, we have epitomized the true spirit of masters swimming: participation for everyone.

Provincials events confirmations will be on the board and the web site as of this evening, along with a ‘Provincials at a glance’ document that will answer many questions you may have. PLEASE READ THEM (désolé – tout en anglais mais appèlez-moi pour en discuter en français 514.225.5465.) I have attached them here but attachments don’t always go through on this list, so if you don’t see them here, check the other sources please.

If there is enough interest, I am going to book pool time at the Olympic pool this Thursday so we can get another session in a 50m pool, and practice starts plus relay take-overs. You do not need to be competing at provincials to join in! I propose one session from 6:30 – 8:30 a.m (drop-in, no one should be swimming for 2 hours). and another from 12:30 – 1:30 pm.

If you plan to attend, please email me or sign -up on the board tonight. I will confirm which sessions will be held by email tomorrow afternoon.

IMPORTANT
Volunteers are still needed as officials for the weekend, especially for Friday and Sunday. Please consider bringing a friend along (no experience required) or doing so yourself if you are not competing. On-deck volunteers are also needed to be ‘team moms’ – help get people to races on time, etc. For either role, please send volunteer name, email address and availability to Robyn ASAP.
Confirmations required for THE VICTORY PARTY by Friday night – to be held at Moe’s 3950 Sherbrooke EAST as soon as the swimming is done on Sunday.
