Joanne Salvaggio Grindal, affectionately known as Jo to all who loved her, passed away February 9, 2010 after a 4½ year struggle with brain tumours. She was just 42. We want to collectively travel the circumference of the world in remembrance of her and all those who have lost their struggle with a brain tumour.
Our goal: to travel the circumference of the earth, 40,000km and to raise $1.00 for every kilometre travelled. In Australia, where it is summer, they’ll be cycling through February in Jo’s memory. But in the UK where it is damp and in Montreal where it is snowy cycling out of doors may not be the most practical activity, so we have decided to encourage participants to dedicate any distance workout: be it cycling (stationary or out of doors), running, walking, swimming, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or even speed-skating. Whatever gets you there. The distance you travel can help you determine what you would like to give toward this worthy cause: you may want to seek pledges and have less able-bodied philanthropists support your activity
Here in Montreal the final day will offer a last chance for participants to build up their distance with a special “spin class” at the Victoria Park health club in Westmount from 1pm to 5pm on February 27th

On Wednesday of this week–November 20th–after the 8:15 practice I ended up with someone else’s team suit (the model was from two years ago–blue, wide strap, blue and white starburst pattern on the sides, SIZE 10/36)–can those (ladies–needless to say) who swam at that practice please check your suits and see if you have mine–which should be about a Size 16/40)–it may not still have the tags in it, but if you try it on, it will definitely be too big for you! Can you get back to me if you have mine and we can exchange! Thanks Margot Kyle 514 935-7035 or hkyle@sympatico.ca

Our pool may be closing for maintenance, but we have come up with several options to keep you in the water…
The pool is scheduled to reopen on Sept 13, if this changes, we will let you know.
Here’s a quick analysis of the great performance last week.
